Bear Mountain Park is situated on an area of about 5205 acres and it was established in 1913, for the people of New York. The park is located on the west side of Hudson River in Rockland county upstate New York. People come here from all over the country to enjoy the view of Hudson river and do hiking, biking, boating, swimming, and many different extracurricular activities. Additionally, the historic Fort Montgomery, which was built in 1776 by the British forces. It is situated undeviatingly alongside the park. Millions of peoples have visited this park throughout the years.
1908, the state of New York try to relocate the sing prison alongside the Bear mountain park. Later in 1909, the government bought another 740 acres of land called bear mountain track, while E. H. Harriman died at the time and his wife donated another 10000 acres of land with 1 million dollars in order to create a park, However, it didn't stop here. she and another friend of her Husband work together and raised 1.5 million dollars from wealthy families in New York such as John D Rockefeller, J Pierpont Morgan.
Therefore, the Park project became a successful project which leads to the demolition of a nearby prison. Later the governemtn built a Henery hudson parky which was overtaken by palisade interstate highway in 1947, and the sate of new jersy helped with almost 500,000 dollars.
Though in the 30s, the Federal Government, under the Franklin Roosevelt administration, where his plan was to pull out the country from the depression built, homes for the park staff, lodges, reservoirs, sewers.
