Park Ave used to be called 4th ave in early 1830, the total length is 10 miles. Meanwhile, it was a street specifically known for the rail track went up to 97th street from cooper square un[ to Harlem and it would be called New York and Harlem Railroad.

Therefore, to make the Railtrack affective the engineer cut open the murry hill and made a tunnel for the train to carry passengers up to Harlem in 1834 (184) years Ago and it was open up until 1850 when it was roofed, the Tunnel name Murry Hill Tunnel, later a part of 34th street up to 40th street grass and grates were installed then they would be called just that area of Park Ave, the rest was 4th ave up in 1860.

Because in 1927, on park ave north of grand central was squeezed in to add an extra lane for an automobile in each direction which was interrupting the traffic and pedestrian on both sides of the Terminal. However, the viaduct was built in 1934 for traffic to go all the way on the other side of the city without any interruptions by the people. A tradition of putting a Christmas tree in the median section was introduced to remember Americans soldiers killed in actions was introduced in 1945 after the second world war.

Meanwhile, in 1959 the people of New York voted 20-1 replace the name from 4th ave between 17 to 32th street to park ave South, which leads to the naming of park ave south from the 17th street32nd32th street.

However, some of the richest people are living up in these apartments after 60th street until 80th and above, Park Ave is one of the most expensive areas of Manhatten a lot of offices are located here and the famous Grand Central Terminal.
