Massachusetts Information technology was formed as a private research study University for the people because of the mass industrialization era, built in 1861. However, the university was built and the civil war broke out and the student's classes were held outside the building in a mercantile building in Boston.  After the war ended the classes were held in the university with minimum curriculum and the university was given an informal name "Boston Tech".

Therefore the university was not a well-known university at that time, because of the programmes,  which were offered was too little and financial problems. However, under the president, Francis Amasa Walker introduced new programmes for students and the university populations grows, still with the financial problems on the back.

However, in the 20th century, the campus was moved to a spacious land where the university buildings were created from private donors from 1912 to 1920. The names weren't revealed until 1920 and one of the donors who donated almost 20 million dollars from 1912 until 1920 his name was George Eastman of Rochester New York, who was the inventor of Eastman Kodack, a company of film and pictures productions form the cameras, it was existed until the end of 20th century when there was no cell phones and digital cameras.

Therefore the university future was changed from just a university in the Cambridge into a worldwide known university, from where many famous historians and intellectuals scientists have completed their educations.

MIT holds the record of 91 noble laureatestes and many other different awards, with the acceptance rate of 7.9 percent. People from all over the world come here to get an education from here, but it is hard to get into this school because it requires excellent grades from every of individuals.
