English sample college level essay

“Sean is neither a racist nor a reverend”
In the story “submission”, Muhammad Khan had been selected an architect of the 9/11 Memorial by the jury in the city of New York. However, when the identity of the architect is publicly revealed. People from across the city were enraged. The national healing warps into a hysterical unpleasant dream. The public disapproval erupts across the City, distinguish characters including Sean struggles with anger and fear to subdue Muhammad Khan and people from his religion. Therefore, he created his own Memorial defense committee and joined SAFI's to stop Muhammad Khan to be the architect of 9/11 memorial. He was also in the media defending his extreme views on Muslims and removed a headscarf of a Muslim woman in public. Indeed, people around him admire his racist bigotry and physical violence against Muslims. Eventually, he realized that people are praising him because of his racist views on Muslims. Though, by which he considers himself the ultimate saver and hero in the sights of people and his family.

Sean was never respected by his family and people around him. He got divorced and lost his business, home. He always wanted to be respected. But that never happened until his brother died and the jury in the city of New York selected Muhammad khan to be the architect of the 9/11. He unravels opposing ideas against Muhammad khan by creating Defense Memorial Committee. The purpose of that committee was to stop Muhammad khan to be the architect of 9/11 memorial; which earned him a lot of respect in the sights of his family and people. He also brought his family together to fight against Muhammad Khan and other Muslims. Sean's brother-in-law said, “it's not enough to kill us, they have to humiliate us too” (the submission). This quote expresses the idea that his family who joined his memorial defense committee doesn't want any Muslims names should be connected to their (Patrick) and 3000 others memorial including Sean. He was firmly against it with his family and urged the victims’ families to join his committee. Eventually, Sean was everywhere in the media making hideous comments on Muslims. Since he was considered a hero and saver by people around him.

However, he got an invitation from (Save America From Islam.) SAFIs leader(Debbie). People in that organizations were professional activist and most of SAFIs were women, Sean noticed. None of the SAFIs had lost anyone in the horrific attacks. Sean imagined of ruling them would be easy enough since they share the same idea of getting rid of Muhammad Khan designing the 9/11 memorials. He accepted their offer to join their movement against Muhammad Khan and the City jury. Debbie describes Muslims into two categories the invader and destroyer. Sean was standing up with her on the stage and listening to the Debbie. Suddenly he broke out his silence “it’s all about people the power who wants to police what we think what we say ……...or respecting our dead” (the submission AW) saying it's not just about Muslims. Our government portraying himself the good guys rather than go after bad guys. The government doesn’t care about us and neither about our dead ones. The ground zero rally was organized. Sean was enjoying every moment of the rally which he organized, against the government selecting Muhammad khan.
Until the government stepped in and warn them to end the rally. Hence, it ended up with Sean pulling off a Muslim woman headscarf in public. This act influenced a lot of people around the city. A week later in the Queen’s mall a guy pulled off another Muslim lady scarf. She was taken to a hospital. His act encourages other people. However, Zahra Hussain, whose headscarf was pulled off by Sean, she filed a complaint against him; and said if Sean apologizes in front of the media I will have the charges dropped against him. Debbie tries to pursue him not to apologize. When he entered the hall filled with people and Debbie raised a voice of not apologizing. Sean entered another room, where he saw Zahra and other people. Afterward, Sean and Zahra came out the room and stand in front of the Microphone. Sean said, “I am really sorry I pulled your headscarf, But Patrick also died to try to save people from Islamic terrorist” Sean apologize in front of the camera. But he also brought his brother death; and said he doesn’t want any Muslim man should be designing his brother memorial. Sean followers were delighted.
